The eyes of the (fiber) world have been focused on Australia these last few weeks as the bold plan for national fiber roll-out is in danger of dying if the current labor government gets ousted by the liberal coalition.
French consultant Thibaut Bellon works for Setics in Australia and keeps a French language blog on FTTH in Australia. His latest post pointed me to a Youtube video of an ABC news show with a good and thorough analysis of the different broadband plans on offer by the two political platforms. There's a quote in there from Peter Marks, ABC's Technology Editor that I think is really good:
"I think speed is one of those things that if you don't have it you don't realise that you want it."
How so very true.
