Last week I spent an hour on the phone with New York Times columnist Randy Stross talking about Hong-Kong Broadband Network's strategy. It's sometime a little tough to discover that in the final article (Cheap, Ultra-Fast Broadband? Hong-Kong Has It) , this discussion is summarised as a single sentence, but in this case the sentence is not only absolutely spot on, it's also the key conclusion of one of the first reports released by Diffraction Analysis and written by James Enck: Hong-Kong's City Telecom has the recipe to spin glass into gold.
Dane Jasper, the CEO of sonic.net in California was also interviewed and commented on the article here. I'm meeting with Dane next week in Santa Rosa and will hopefully learn more about their FTTP initiatives.
